Please read before posting

This group has been set up for organizing activities to fight against the War on Pain Patients. Pain patients and those who support their right to appropriate and compassionate medical care are welcome here. We focus our activities on organizing because we believe that is the most effective way to support patients. For this reason we have some rules that must be observed.

  1. Posts should focus primarily on organizing and issues related to organizing (i.e., what is happening, why is it happening, and what can we do about it). There are plenty of groups out there that have a larger focus, but few dedicated to organizing activities.
  2. Please do not try to sell products or services here, either in posts or in links to sales sites. Pain patients are often desperate for anything that might help them. They are also often living in or near poverty. This is not a place to exploit poor people in order to make a profit.
  3. Limited fundraising for specific events may be permitted, but only with moderator approval. Please contact us before posting fundraising appeals. We may even help you out by posting your event on this site, as long as the fundraising portion is not high pressure.
  4. Do not promote the use of illegal substances or discuss personal experiences with them. This is not for any moral reason, but to protect people here. We live in a repressive world and organizers will be targets of that repression. Let's not make it easy for those who would like to end our struggle.
  5. No moralistic grandstanding. If you have been able to get through your shattered bones and multiple surgeries with nothing but a glass of warm milk, good for you. But that doesn't mean that you are better than those who need pain relief for their problems. Related to this, those who promote anti-pain patient propaganda or drug treatment centers, etc. will be summarily taken out back and shot (permanently banned).
  6. Please discuss in a respectful manner.  Political discussion is appropriate and necessary for our work. Discussion of disagreements is encouraged but remember, to attack someone personally rather than focusing on the political issue is to admit that your arguments have been defeated.
  7. Deliberate and conscious racism, sexism, homophobia, and other forms of bigotry will not be tolerated. Unintentional mistakes in these areas can and should be discussed. But if bigotry is a part of your perspective, this is definitely not a place you want to be.
  8. Agents of the War on Pain Patients are not welcome here. If you have reason to suspect that someone is in this category, please let us know immediately.
